Ever walked to an interview, or a group of friends or even on the streets and have someone seize you up? (Same here). Having a lasting impression is crucial to every meeting, not just business, and the easiest way to get THAT across is to dress up for it.

The way you dress says a lot about you, it can tell who you are and who you want to be. Dressing well doesn’t necessarily mean dressing formally everyday, but dressing in sharp unpretentious yet subtle garments can make a great impression.

The right clothes can have a major impact on your anxiety level as well as your self-confidence. Wearing casual and boring clothes all the time can directly reduce your confidence and increase your anxiety.

When you wear good quality trendy clothing, your confidence goes up and it feels great too. Dressing well grabs attention and it boosts moral to get attention from time to time.

But here’s what science think…

In a study published in Journal of Experimental Social Psychology, medical students who wore lab coats that they were told belonged to doctors performed better on tests than those who wore street clothes or were told the (same) coats belonged to artists.

There is a direct correlation between what we wear and what we think of our potential. My mother always told me ‘if you want something, dress the part’. Well if it’s confidence we seek then why not dress the part? You can use style as a tool to boost your self-confidence.

While it might be sub conscious to dress (literally wearing clothes), it is a conscious effort to dress properly. So here is, Ro’s few tips to doing your part.

  • Dress for your body type
  • Embrace your favorite feature
  • Know what colors look best on you
  • Wear what fits perfectly, because fitting makes your outfit look better 10x.  It’s guaranteed to make you feel confident.
  • Define your style
  • Wear classic timeless accessories and do not overpower your look with them.

It doesn’t matter if people think you are extravagant, most respect the dress before the woman. That is how we think, or the car before the man.
